Mrs. Majka Kowalczyk is the Founder, Artistic Director and Choreographer of Mazovia Polish Song and Dance association. She has led the development of the ensemble from its establishment in 2015.
Born and raised in Lodz, Poland, with a great musical influence from her family, Majka started dancing at the age of six.
Later on she began exploring various dance styles and areas, including extensive training in classic ballet, jazz and folk.

Mrs. Kowalczyk is former dancer of the Representative Folk Song & Dance Ensemble, "POLTEX" from Lodz. Not only did she take up Polish folk dance as a hobby, it was an entertaining, as well as challenging social activity for her. This opportunity fostered her love of song and dance. Under the direction of Irena KIK, Janusz Kazimierczak, Daniela Nawrocka and Dariusz Nawrocki she and her fellow dancers traveled around the world and represented Poland at numerous cultural festivals and represented Poland at numerous cultural festivals and international competitions in which "POLTEX"won great numbers of awards and recognition. At that time Poltex received: Distinguished award at world festival in " Cote d'Azur" - France 86,  Award at the VII Friendship Spring Festival in Pyongyang, North Korea where the group on behalf of Poland took part in the birthday celebration of Kim Sen'a a leader of North Korea. Award from the Minister of Culture of Syria for the best folk dance group at XI International Festival Of  Folk Dance in Syria, Certificate award from commander UNDOF at Golan Hights, Award in Italy.

After moving to Canada in 1992, Mrs. Kowalczyk became a teacher at " Cardinal Augustin Hlonda Polish School" in Ontario and a year later, she continued sharing her passion for Polish folk dance. She formed a Polish Folk Dance group in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. During that time, she produced and choreographed Polish folk dances and jazz routines for various audiences, alongside organizing many public performances. Mrs. Kowalczyk did also a few choreographs of Polish National Dances for Multicultural Day at " St. Agnes School."

She moved to Calgary a few years ago where she started a job as a Polish Interpreter for the Calgary Catholic School District.
IN 2014-2015 she was hired as an Artistic Director and Choreographer for Krakusy Polish Song and Dance Association and Polanie Polish Song and Dance Association.

On September 15,2015 Mazovia Polish Song and Dance Association was born. Under her direction the group actively participates in the cultural and social life of the Polish and Canadian society, with outstanding choreography the splend​or of authentic costumes, vitality and joy of polish songs and dances.
